Field binoculars and prism binoculars are smaller and can be used in the hand with binocular telescopes. They can zoom in on distant targets, so through them, distant scenes can be seen more clearly. Unlike monocular telescopes, binocular telescopes also give the user depth of depth, that is, they have a perspective effect. This is so because when two human eyes look at the same image from slightly different angles, a stereoscopic effect occurs.
For field binoculars or prism binoculars, an increase in magnification means a reduced field of view. Therefore, it is more difficult to determine the location of a target using high-magnification telescopes. Most people can firmly hold a prism-type binoculars magnified 6x or 8x to see the distant scene. If the magnification exceeds 10x, a tripod is recommended. Watching a fast-changing sports game requires a wide field of view, so it is best to use a prism-type binocular with a magnification of 5x or 6x. When tracking bird flight and observing panoramic views, a 7x or 8x prism double telescope is preferred.
